The Bylaws of Arkansas Valley Electric Cooperative require the Board of Directors to appoint a Committee on Nominations at least 120 days before the date of a meeting of the members at which directors are to be elected. The committee is selected from different areas of the Cooperative service area to ensure equitable representation. According to Cooperative By-Laws, a member of the Board of Directors cannot serve on this committee.

The following Cooperative members have been selected to serve on this committee for 2025: Lee Baggett, Crawford County; Tim O’Kelley, Crawford County; Nick Gilsinger, Franklin County; Lonnie Turner, Franklin County; Louis Reece, Johnson County; Billy Sampley, Johnson County; Don Vanderpool, Scott County; and Wayne Barton, Sebastian County.

The Committee will meet at the Cooperative Headquarters in Ozark, on Thursday, March 27.

The committee, keeping in mind the principle of geographical representation, shall prepare and post at the principal office of the Cooperative at least seventy-five (75) days before the meeting of the members, a list of nominations for directors, which may include a greater number of candidates than are to be elected.

One percent (1%) or more of the Cooperative members acting collectively may make other nominations by petitions not less than forty-five (45) days prior to the meeting of the members. Petitions and additional information may be obtained from the Cooperative. The secretary of the Board of Directors shall post such nominations at the same place where the list of nominations made by the committee on nominations is posted.

The secretary of the Cooperative shall mail with the notice of the meeting or separately, but at least ten (10) days before the date of the election a statement of the number of directors to be elected and names and addresses of the candidates, specifying separately the nominations made by the committee on nominations and the nominations made by Cooperative members.
