Creed Case - 2024 Christmas Card Winner
Bucket Truck Brilliance: Clarksville 5th Grader's Winning Christmas Card Drawing
In a festive display of creativity, 5th Grader Creed Case of Clarksville has charmed many with his winning entry in Arkansas Valley Electric Cooperative Corporation’s annual Christmas Card Contest.
Getting to Know the Artist
Creed is the third of four sons to Quintin and Alicia Case. Beyond his artistic endeavors, Creed is a kindhearted student who loves seeing his friends at school. He actively participates in quiz bowl, basketball, football, and baseball and shared that he aspires to "play basketball" when he grows up.
Inspiration and Creation
Inspired by his mother, who found the contest online, Creed drew a bucket truck because it reminded him of Arkansas Valley Electric Cooperative. "I looked up a picture to get it right, then added lights and decorations," he explained, dedicating two days to his festive creation.
Life as an AVECC Member and WAVE Customer
The Case family home is powered by Arkansas Valley Electric and connected to the internet by Wave Rural Connect. Creed explained that he experienced the transformation brought by high-speed internet. "I remember we couldn't do a lot because the internet wasn't keeping up, and then [when we switched to Wave Rural Connect] it got a lot faster," he recalls.
Cherished Christmas Traditions
Christmas holds a special place in Creed's heart, not just for the presents but for his family's cherished traditions. He said his favorite traditions include "going to my Grandma's and Mimi's houses and reading The Polar Express" each year.
Creed's winning drawing will be displayed on the front of AVECC's 2024 Christmas Card. These cards are mailed to friends of AVECC, legislators, and businesses nationwide. In addition to having his artwork featured on this year's AVECC Christmas card, Creed received a $50 gift card.
