Pat’s Kitchen Fair Lemonade

Recipe

  • 5-gallon bucket 
  • 5-pounds of sugar 
  • Water
  • Lemons

Directions:

  1. Mix water and sugar. 
  2. Add one cut and lightly squeezed lemon per each 32-ounce glass. 
  3. Add water/sugar mixture to cup and mix with lemon.
  4. Serve

Funnel Cake

Recipe

  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • ¾ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons powdered sugar

Directions:

  1. In a large liquid measuring cup or batter bowl with a spout, whisk together milk, egg, water, and vanilla.
  2. Add sugar, baking powder, and salt and whisk until combined.
  3. Add the flour, and whisk until completely smooth. Set aside.
  4. In a medium, deep-sided pan or pot, heat 1" of oil to 375°F over medium-high heat. When you put the end of a wooden spoon in the pot and bubbles form around the spoon, it's ready. Reduce heat to medium.
  5. Drizzle batter from the cup in a thin line, swirling around the pan and overlapping as desired. Cook for 2 minutes or until light golden brown, then flip and cook another 2 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Dust with 2 tablespoons powdered sugar and serve. Repeat one more time with the remaining batter.

Fried Oreos

  • Same steps as Funnel Cake.
  • Dip Oreo in batter and deep fry on both sides.
  • Allow to cool and dust with powdered sugar. 

Fried Pickles 

Recipe

Tip: Use Vlasic dill pickle spears

  •  4 cups veg oil
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tsp dry ranch dressing mix
  • ½ tsp cayenne powder
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups panko bread crumbs 
  • 12 dill pickle spears 

Directions:

  1. Heat oil to 375
  2. Stir together Flour, ranch mix, and cayenne 
  3. In another bowl, beat eggs
  4. in a third bowl, place panko bread crumbs
  5. Roll each pickle spear in the flour mixture, then into the egg using one hand, shaking off excess. Dip back into the flour mixture for a second time. Coat the pickle spear with bread crumbs, pressing with the other hand to adhere. Set aside on a plate and repeat with remaining pickle spears. 
  6. Fry in hot oil for 2 to 3 minutes, turning once, or until golden brown. Drain fried pickles on a cooling rack or paper towels. 
  7. Serve
