Intern Spotlight - Wesley Garrett

As a Poteau native and student at Oklahoma State University's Institute of Technology, Wesley interned at AVECC's Pocola District this past spring.

He anticipates to graduate with an Associates in Applied Science as a High Voltage Line Technician in 2025.Wesley shared the inspiration that guided his career path, “I have family and friends that are linemen and I have always known that the career has been incredible for their families.”

Wesley explained his fondness of the crews he worked alongside, "If I didn't know something, everyone would drop what they were doing and go out of their way to help me.” 

"I feel like I have known all these guys my whole life,” he shared. “Working here, feels like working with family."
