Intern Spotlight - Kendell Friemel
Kendell Friemel is interning as a multimedia intern at Arkansas Valley Electric this summer. Kendell was born and raised in Paris, which is where she also graduated high school. She is currently a senior at Southern Arkansas University and is majoring in agriculture business. Although Kendell is not living in her hometown anymore, she still feels the same sense of community at college, something she truly values.
“SAU is in downtown Magnolia, which is pretty small for a college town around here, so it feels like home; I really appreciate like that.”
Receiving the 2021 AVECC Scholarship inspired Kendell to experience the multimedia arts she wants to pursue in the future. She is learning all that she can to grow skills she will use in her future career. According to Kendell, the highlight of her internship has been getting to make graphics that provide AVECC's members with information and updates on behalf of AVECC.
“Since I didn’t know much about the cooperative before coming here, my co-workers have taught me so much and treated me like family. I have enjoyed getting to talk with the linemen while we are taking pictures in the field because they have different perspectives and experiences compared to us here in the office.”
