AVECC's 2023 Senior Scholarship Recipients

Arkansas Valley Electric Cooperative (AVECC) names the three local high school seniors who will receive AVECC's $2,500 Senior Scholarship.

Students completed applications that included their academic, community, and school involvement and submitted an essay about how they plan to use their degree to change their community.

AVECC received seventy-one applications from across the Cooperative's service territory and chose ten finalists to interview.

The three 2023 AVECC Senior Scholarship recipients are Anna Hart, Graceanne Morgan, and Kylie Murray.

ANNA HART

Anna Hart is a 2023 graduate of Paris High School. While at PHS, Anna's school involvement included the National Honor Society, Cheer, Future Business Leaders of America, Student Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Volleyball, Key Club, and FFA.

Anna plans on attending the University of Arkansas, where she will pursue a bachelor’s degree in either biology or biochemistry.

Anna plans to use this degree to pursue a career in healthcare. She shares, "Changing the world and my community has always been appealing to me, as it is to most. I strive to do this by pursuing a career in medicine.”

Anna continued, “With this scholarship, I will be able to put the money towards getting my degree; in the long run, putting it towards my community.”

GRACEANNE MORGAN

Graceanne Morgan is a 2023 graduate of Clarksville High School. While at CHS, Graceanne's school involvement included Panther Theatre, Chamber Choir, Student-Led Bible Study, Cheer, and Beta Club.

Graceanne plans on attending Ouachita Baptist University, where she will pursue a bachelor's degree in Musical Theatre.

“All my experiences in theater have led me to be the strong woman I am today,” Graceanne explains. She dreams of the day that all children are enabled to share this passion.

Graceanne hopes to partner with her local theatre program to enable the students who are currently without the opportunity, to become immersed in a theatre program.

She shares, “You must work for what you want, and that is exactly what I am doing. I plan to set an example for our community's students, so they can become the next best generation. I would like to be a guiding light for younger women who want to pursue their education.”

KYLIE MURRAY

Kylie Murray is a 2023 graduate of Cedarville High School. While at CHS, Kylie's school involvement included Cheer, DECA, Student Council, Beta Club, Yearbook, Prom Committee, and Youth Alive.

Kylie plans on attending the University of Arkansas, where she will pursue a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Kylie explained that the “calming presence” of a nurse and their position to aid in saving lives draws her towards the field. She continued, “I want people to look at me and remember me as someone who impacted their life positively.”

She lives to serve others and is eager to make a positive impact on everyone she meets. Kylie elaborated, “I love when I can change one person's life by simply smiling or saying hello. But most importantly, I love feeling the growth of people and seeing the impact I have in their lives.”

AVECC congratulates all 2023 graduates and looks forward to watching the next generation change our communities.
